These birds were photographed in various areas up and down the central coastal area of California

Osprey & California Thrasher

Zone-tailed Hawk. Not native to California, this one was seen wintering here for at least 15 years. The photo on the right, taken in 2004, shows him plucking a hapless starling off of a telephone pole. He was later seen enjoying his lunch.
